How we treat what you give us
Last updated 13 October 2026.
My Natuur collects very little, and only for the reasons written here. This notice is given in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). If anything in it is unclear, write to us at hello@mynatuur.com and a person will answer.
Who we are
My Natuur (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/231972/07), trading as My Natuur, of 3 Palmyra Street, Lynn’s View, Somerset West, 7130, South Africa, is the responsible party for your personal information. Our information officer is Chére Loggenberg, reachable at hello@mynatuur.com.
What we collect, and when
- When you ask to receive the Founder’s Letter, and so join the waiting list for a ring: your name and email address, your telephone number where the form asks for it, the date and time you asked and the page you asked from.
- When you reply to an invitation or sign up for one of our conversations: your name, email address, your telephone number where the form asks for it, and your reply.
- When you join the Society by acquiring a ring: your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address, ring size, whether the ring is a gift and your acceptance of our terms.
- When you write to us: your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the site: the technical information any website receives, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you view, held briefly in our hosting logs.
Why we collect it
- To send you the Founder’s Letter and news of our releases, because you asked for it, and to offer you a ring first if you asked to join the waiting list. This rests on your consent, and you may withdraw it at any time by using the link at the foot of any letter or by writing to us.
- To fulfil your acquisition of a ring: to confirm your size, to receive your payment, to give your number, to make your ring and to deliver it. This rests on the agreement between us.
- To keep the register of the thirty numbered rings, which records who holds each number.
- To meet our obligations under South African tax and consumer law.
We do not sell your information, rent it or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not bring in lists of names from anywhere.
Who helps us hold it
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our instruction and under contract:
- Our customer and email platform, GoHighLevel, whose servers are in the United States.
- Our website host, Vercel, and our database provider, whose servers may be outside South Africa.
- A courier, who receives your name, address and telephone number in order to deliver your ring.
Where information leaves South Africa it goes only to providers bound by written agreements that protect it to a standard at least equal to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.
How long we keep it
- Your place among the readers of the Founder’s Letter, and on the waiting list: until you ask us to stop, or to remove you.
- Records of your purchase: five years after the purchase, as tax law requires, and the register of numbers for as long as My Natuur exists.
- Hosting logs: no longer than 30 days.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to how we use it and ask us to stop the Founder’s Letter. Write to hello@mynatuur.com. We answer within a reasonable time and never charge for it. If you believe we have not treated your information properly you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.
